[Backdated to NYE] Jax's Room [NWS eventually]

There was no way she was letting herself be completely sidetracked this time, so she'd spent a good part of the day cooking - brownies, lasagna, salad, raspberry pie and garlic bread. She'd loaded everything except the lasagna and garlic bread, which were just about done, into bags, added a bottle of champagne and two glasses for midnight, and made her way across the hall.

She 'knocked' on the door with her foot since both her arms were full and waited for Jax to answer.

He answered soon enough, baggy t-shirt and pants as usual and he quickly reached for the bags, cigarette in the corner of his mouth. "Jesus, you weren't kidding about cooking, were you?"

She laughed. "Yeah, well, no point doing something halfway, right? You do have plates and silverware and stuff, right? The village usually provides them."

"Uh, yeah. I think so, anyway," he laughed. "Gotta say I didn't look."

Carrying the bags to the kitchen, he set them down, then checked and sure enough. "Yep. We got those."

"Okay, you have to hold the doors for me then," Lana said with a smile. "Because I need both hands for the lasagna and garlic bread. This stuff is just the salad and dessert stuff."

"Man, okay."

Going where she directed, and staying out of her way, Jax waited until it was all in his kitchen before he grabbed her around the middle from behind to pull her back, mouth on her neck. "Thanks."

Lana tilted her head to offer better access. "You're welcome," she said warmly. "I don't get much of a chance to cook. It's no fun just cooking for yourself."

"You cook for the kid, right?" Taking what was offered, he held her a little tighter. "And any time you wanna make me food, just go for it."

Lana nodded, reaching behind her to hold onto him. "Sometimes, yeah. I made him and the guys who take care of him Thanksgiving dinner. And I made brownies with him. But they mostly eat mac and cheese. Tim does the cooking."

Jax didn't ask who Tim was, because he didn't care. What he did care about was what was under Lana's shirt. His hands slid there, cupping both her breasts, and squeezing. "Oh, yeah?" he whispered against her ear before sucking there lightly.

Lana gasped in pleasure, hands coming up to cover his through her shirt. "Hey, come on, hot food. Really good hot food. She turned to catch his mouth with hers. "And all night for this, I promise."

That got a growl and Jax nipped at her ear some before letting her go. "Yeah, okay. What do you need me to do?"

"Grab those plates and some silverware and napkins and set the table while I get this stuff ready to serve?" she said as she smoothed her shirt back down. "Glasses, too? I've got some wine and beer for with dinner and champagne for later."

She took a second to catch her breath, then started pulling everything out of the bags.

It'd been a while since he'd had to do shit like this. So, with a small grin, he set the table and asked her, "you want wine or beer?"

"Wine, please," Lana said with a smile, pointing to the bottle. She finished tossing the salad, set it on the table next to the garlic bread, then went back to get the big pan of lasagna.

"There's brownies and pie with whipped cream for dessert," she told him as she set a very large serving of the lasagna on his plate and a very much smaller one on her own.

"Shit," he marveled. "This looks fantastic, you know?" He managed to pour the wine and get a beer for himself before sitting. "Way to a guy's heart, you know?" Not that he has any Italian in him, but damn, it smells good.

Lana laughed. "Well, I owed you a meal and we might as well ring in the New Year right."

She raised her glass. "To the New Year. May it be better than the last."

He can toast to that, glass clinking against hers before he took a drink, watching her as he took a long draught. Then he just dug in, nodding and making appreciative noises as he ate. Fuck.

She watched him eat, nibbling on her own portion. It was nice to see him enjoying it so much.

Usually, back in Charming, Jax ate at the club, or out somewhere and manners weren't at the forefront. At least he wiped his mouth when he was done before grinning over at her. "You're a damned good cook."

"Thanks," she said quietly, blushing a little. "I'm glad you like it."

"It's great. Really." And fuck, he needed a smoke. Giving her an apologetic look, he went over to the window and sat on the jamb to at least smoke there.

New Year's Eve. He'd be at the club, there'd be too much drinking, naked women, sex.

Fuck. He missed it, but only a little.

She started straightening things up, covering what was left of the lasagna and garlic bread and cleaning up the dishes as he smoked.

"Hey," he caught her as she was making a trip. "I should do that." A kiss to her cheek and he took the plates. "You should sit, or something." He headed toward the kitchen.

She followed him in, glad to let him take over the washing up while she put the last of the things away. "Want another beer?" she asked, leaning against the counter and, yes, watching his ass and back.

"Uh, yeah. If you don't mind getting one?" He threw a grin over his shoulder as he did the dishes. Fuck, the guys would laugh at him. That's what they had probies for.
